Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book a Kyle Matthews Concert?
If you have a particular date in mind, please check our website at www.kylematthews.com for Kyle's current list of engagements. If nothing is scheduled on the calendar, Kyle may be available. You can contact us at "See For Yourself Music" at 615.812.3026 or booking@kylematthews.com. Someone will contact you promptly regarding your invitation.

Why do I have to fill out the form?
The form helps us to get an understanding of your event and how Kyle would fit in the program. Basically, it answers all of our questions in one place. It is essential that all of the questions on the form be filled out for us to make an educated decision on a given invitation.

I'm having trouble downloading the worksheet.
The worksheet requires that you have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer. It is available for download free at www.adobe.com.

Why does Kyle use a manager?
Kyle uses a Manager to handle all of his bookings because it frees him to do what he does best – write great songs and travel to perform them.

Why do you require that I give you an offer for the honorarium?
It helps us to better understand your budget, needs, and priorities when you give us an offer for the honorarium. We can then consider whether we can afford to accept your offer. If not, then we will give you the opportunity to raise the offer, or work with you to find a time that our budget can afford your offer. We will do our best to work with you to find a way to make something possible.

Does Kyle do "love offerings?"
We are willing to examine every situation individually. However, as a matter of practice we do not do concerts for "love offerings." Just as you have financial obligations, so do we. To properly budget for our obligations, we typically work on a fee based model.

Why do you require a written agreement and deposit?
We believe that a written agreement facilitates clear communication between everyone. It helps protect the relationship between Kyle and your organization by specifying each party's obligations and expectations in writing. Because Kyle is not employed by another company, we have to operate See For Yourself Music as a business, taking into consideration all of the issues any business would, including payment, quality control, insurance risk, transportation, etc. An agreement properly addresses all of these issues and prevents memory lapses at the time of the concert.

A deposit is a means to guarantee a date. It says that you are serious about your commitment to hold Kyle's availability. It is similar to presenting an engagement ring, or offering earnest money on a house. We typically request a 25% deposit with the return of your agreement.

Why do you require certain sound equipment?
Sound equipment is made for certain purposes. Some microphones are good for vocals while others are good for piano. You are spending a good amount of money to bring Kyle to your town, and it follows that you will want him to sound good. We recommend certain model numbers because in our experience, these models are appropriate for Kyle's performance. It is important to use the appropriate equipment if you are to get the best possible perfomance.

Kyle makes his living by performing. We hope that he will continue to perform for many more years. In order to develop a base of devoted supporters, we believe that quality control is essential. People should expect a certain level of quality at Kyle's concerts and we wish to provide that every time.
